Japan Travel Series (Part 5)
In this instalment of our Japan trip, Tori and I explore more of Kyoto! We visit the Golden Temple and take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony with a Maiko. (Kyoto's name for a Geisha) We also enjoy a delicious Japanese curry, walk our way through the thousand Torii gates (Tori enjoyed this a lot). We grab a daifuku for Tori at the market where we also had another piece of the amazing fried chicken! In the last bit of the video, we arrive for our first day in Osaka and visit the Daruma Doll Temple. Thanks for hanging out with us and being part of the journey. Home for the Holidays (Part 3)
This is the final instalment of my holidays at home. I finish up a few shows in Calgary, then Tori and I head down to Lethbridge to spend some time with my grandma and my parents. We squeeze in some proper family time before I drive Tori partway to meet her sister halfway between Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. The rest of the video is exactly what you’d hope for at this time of year. Family all together, presents being opened, lots of laughs, and a big Christmas dinner to wrap it all up. Nothing fancy, just good people, good food, and a really nice way to close out the holidays. Thanks for hanging out with us and being part of the journey. Home for the Holidays (Part 2)
In this video, Tori and I grab an onigiri and ramen lunch at Koko here in Calgary! I share a quick clip from my 5th annual Born Brewing show, then we head out to see the CPKC Holiday Train roll through the city with Barenaked Ladies as the headliner. Tori put me to work at Cold Garden on their horse-drawn carriage ride through Inglewood, making the trip between Cold Garden and High Line Brewing. I didn't drive, just hosted! To top it all off, my sister surprises me with an absolutely wicked advent calendar. Twelve days of cards, which might be one of my favourite gifts ever. Home for the Holidays (Part 1)
In this video, I pack up and get ready to leave the ship and head home. After being away, Tori and I get into the Christmas spirit by decorating the house and slowing things down a bit. I do a bit of rehearsal for some upcoming shows, we share a cozy roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding, I perform at a house party, and we end our days the right way with hot chocolates. It’s a quieter, more home-focused video, but one that feels like the perfect transition into the holiday season. Thanks for hanging out with us and being part of the journey. Ephesus
Today, Tori and I continue our adventure through Turkey! This time in the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the most historically rich places in the world. Walking these ruins feels like stepping straight into the past, and we packed a lot into this day. On todays excursion we tour the ancient city of Ephesus, exploring its legendary landmarks and ruins. Enjoyed an incredible traditional Turkish lunch that absolutely hit the spot. After lunch we toured an art gallery and rug-making workshop to see the craft behind Turkish carpets. After the tour we had to endure a very pushy sales pitch (definitely not the highlight of the day). after the rug making, we headed back toward the ancient city and traveled up into the hills to visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a peaceful site believed by many to be her final home. Ephesus is full of history, stories, and surprises! Thanks for joining us on another day of exploring Turkey! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to follow the rest of the journey.
